Singer and violinist Eeva Talsi presented in collaboration with GIVEN at Viru Centre a silver jewelry collection called “LEND / FLIGHT“, inspired by an Estonian runo creation song. For each item sold, 10 euros are donated to charity through the Tartu University Clinic Children’s Fund.
The GIVEN jewelry retail chain operates in all three Baltic countries today, and it is no coincidence that the first presentation of GIVEN’s first Estonian jewelry collection was chosen to take place at Viru Keskus. Six years ago, the first GIVEN jewelry store in the Baltics was opened there, which has since become the leading jewelry retail chain in the Baltics.
The silver jewelry collection was created in collaboration with Alina Springe, the creative director and designer of the Given jewelry business. Each piece brings the wearer the unique style and empathy of the creators.
“The jewelry collection originated from an Estonian creation song, where the verses seem to be hidden like precious gems behind the entire perception of our essence. This ancient folk song speaks of a time thousands of years ago when everything begins with a little bird rising from the primordial sea seeking a nest. Finding a clump, a meadow, or a garden, it lays three eggs there. A great wind rises, and the eggs roll into the water. They give birth to the land, sky, and stars. This core text has been passed down orally from generation to generation and is like a flight through the ages, connecting us through the wisdom, traditions, and power of our ancestors,” said Talsi, adding that she hopes the jewelry will give its wearer power and courage to soar to new heights. “The LEND /FLIGHT jewelry collection reflects the artistic brilliance of beloved Estonian musician Eeva Talsi and the deep essence of folk songs that have inspired the creation of this collection. The collaboration shares not only common artistic visions but also celebrates deep cultural ties between the Baltic countries, showcasing the extraordinary beauty we can create together. Each item in the collection is masterfully crafted from silver and adorned with delicate feather motifs inspired by freely flying birds, symbolizing freedom and creativity,” added collection designer Alina Spriņģe.
The collection was created with a charitable purpose, and therefore, 10 euros are donated to the Tartu University Clinic Children’s Fund for each item sold, contributing to the well-being of Estonian children. The Tartu University Clinic Children’s Fund is a well-known organization in Estonia that supports sick children and their families by providing necessary assistance and opportunities for everyday life. “The Children’s Fund has been doing very valuable work for years, supporting children in need of special treatment or care and their families. Their activities touch us deeply because it is essential for our company to support those who need help the most. By contributing to children’s well-being, we are also contributing to our common future,” said GIVEN’s CEO Natalja Reinoja, adding that the proceeds from the collection will be directed, as requested by Talsi, primarily to children in need of psychological support.
