21.10.2024

On October 18th, the first The North Face® store in the Baltics was opened on the second floor of Viru Keskus in Tallinn, attracting a large number of renowned hiking and sports enthusiasts. The new store brings the world-famous adventure brand closer to serious adventurers as well as those who appreciate stylish and durable outdoor gear for everyday use.

The North Face®, founded over 50 years ago, is known for its innovative and durable products suitable for challenging mountain hikes and active urban use. Now, customers in the Baltics can enjoy a wide selection of jackets, hiking boots, sportswear, and accessories right from Viru Keskus. The North Face’s innovation is evident in the use of the latest technologies in the creation of clothing designed for harsh climatic conditions, as well as in its ongoing efforts to reduce the environmental footprint of its products.

“We are very excited to open the first The North Face® store in the Baltics,” said The North Face brand manager Janno Viilup. “Tallinn’s sporty and rapidly developing community values time spent in nature, and our new store provides them with the opportunity to equip themselves with the best weather-resistant outdoor gear,” added Kaidi Kask, CEO of Sportland Estonia.

The highlight of the opening was an inspiring discussion led by Mart Normet, featuring Riin Mäesalu, a nature enthusiast and initiator of investment expeditions; Tanel Tuuleveski, an alpinist and polar explorer who has summited two eight-thousand-meter peaks and reached the South Pole as the first Estonian hiker; and musician Mick Pedaja. The discussion covered topics of adventure in nature, self-overcoming, and innovation, offering participants inspiration and new perspectives.

In the panel, Tanel Tuuleveski emphasized that people in Estonia should hike more. He added, “To explore the world and enjoy marvelous and beautiful nature, one often needs to travel to places where good hiking gear is essential. Protective and comfortable gear has allowed me to visit extreme, yet incredibly beautiful areas of our lovely planet. And we have stunning nature in Estonia too; there’s no need to venture abroad. True life begins at the end of your comfort zone!
