In the spotlight of FIBIT: Minimal Wind

FIBIT 2023’1 turns the spotlight on the work, personalities and style of the artists starring at the Tallinn Music Week.

SOUND LOUD ON, while you listen to this reel.
Liked what you heard? Minimal Wind will perform at the Tallinn Music Week on the Võnge festival stage on Saturday, May 13, in Fotografiska.

Together with Tallinn Music Week we asked and @elisabethtiffany answered.

Q: Your most improbable/weird/funny source of inspiration?
A: Once I went to a grocery shop and bought a chocolatey sweet Foundante. This mini cake had such a heavenly taste and texture that I knew right there between the shop shelves that it would deserve its own melody and harmony. I went home and made nearly a whole song on the basis of that inspiration. Later it turned out that the product changed its name and now it is Fondant. I don’t even know how I should pronounce that word, but a much more important questions is what I should call this song.

Q: How to go fashionably Green?
A: I wear clothes that I already have. I take time to try out new combinations in front of a mirror and wear precisely that item that I have had lying forgotten in my wardrobe for a long time. This way I have discovered that I can use some dress as a blouse and wear clothes in a completely different context. Or I might discover that an old blazer I have been brushing aside is very stylish with a belt that has been waiting its turn for ages. This way an old clothing item will become a new favourite and freshness is returned to the wardrobe. I make purchases within reason and if it is timeless, high quality and really necessary, then it is a great investment.

Q: What is it that you never leave home without?
A: For some reason I cannot leave home before I have a ring on both hands and an earring in both ears. If I forget one ring it will bother me all day and mostly it is my most eye-catching ring, the ring of Minimal Wind that was made in cooperation with jewellery designer Krista Lehar. I must also mention the Minimal Wind logo on that ring that my band mate Paula Pajusaar designed, and other cool minimalist clothes and jewellery that she has designed.

Q: What did you last learn about yourself?
A: If I start my day by hiding my phone in a drawer from myself, then surprisingly it will stay there all day and I will be much more productive and happy.

Q: What are you expecting from the Tallinn Music Week?
A: I look forward to the night of the show, so that we could deliver the best live that we possibly can. By now we have developed enormously in a year and taken our performances to the next level. It is also cool that that night we can share the stage with artists that we know.
