Half a million in two months: Viru Food Hall visitor numbers exceeded 560,000

Viru Food Hall that was opened in Viru Keskus in the middle of June passed an important milestone. The unique and spacious Food Hall on 1,500 square metres consisting of 15 restaurants has been visited by more than half a million people during its short operating period.

The owner of street food restaurant F.Burger Eva Hunt is satisfied with the results as the first months have been successful and productive for F.Burger. “At first we started in Viru Food Hall with a small menu, but thanks to great interest we have significantly widened it. We have lots of ideas and plans.” Hunt emphasizes the originality and concept of Viru Food Hall that suits anybody regardless of age or the reason for the gathering.

Olga Danilova, the hostess of Pavlova is overjoyed that the hit pastries are enjoyed both by local sweet tooths and foreign visitors. “We are very happy with our summer results and the fact that we have been discovered by foreign visitors who had lots of good to say. We have many ideas in store to surprise our visitors!”

The Executive Manager of Viru Keskus Gertti Kogermann sees that in spite of the doubts and risks in the air Estonian people are still willing to allow themselves great food experiences. “In July we could nicely see the return of tourists as well — our positive gourmet news had even reached our neighbours. On the other hand in August we are seeing more interest in Viru Food Hall among locals and the people of surrounding areas. People are above all eager to visit us with colleagues or friends for lunch or to spend the evening. We can say that the renovation of the centre that started two years ago is now proving worthwhile and even exceeds expectatons. All the new areas and updated shops in our centre have been positively welcomed by customers. By summer next year we will complete the full renovation of the centre and we can look forward to some truly exciting news.”

The food area is located in the wing of Viru Keskus facing Estonia avenue, next to Tammsaare Park. The food area is open daily from 9 AM to 10 PM, and up to 12 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Delicious food can be enjoyed in the restaurants or delivered by food couriers.

Viru Food Hall is full of surprises!

Coming to the capital from Tartu, 3Tilli pizza & pasta built an Italian-style wood-burning stove in Viru Keskus, brewery Mikkeller that is listed among the world’s top 5 prepared a special brew and Freya Foodbaar offers daily a Michelin star menu that includes lunch offers. Their best delicacies are served by Jäätisemeister KÜLM, Asian street food provider KimiJimi, PokeBowl offering Hawaiian tastes, South American food experts in Stereo StreetFood with tacos, tortillas, guacamole and other spicy flavours, sweets expert Pavlova, speciality coffee roastery and bar Papermill, F.Burger serving genuine street food, the most loved sushi brand in Estonia MySushi, CHI serving oriental tastes and the beloved Uzbek bakery products by Samsa Family Bakers.
