The Jazzkaar festival was opened, bringing numerous concerts to the audience on 23–29 August in the Fotografiska 1st floor hall and in Vaba Lava (Open Space). As part of Jazzkaar, we also opened the photo exhibition “We Wear Culture” on the ground floor of Fotografiska. The photo series captures the leading ladies of four important Estonian cultural institutions and events – Helen Sildna, Eha Komissarov, Anne Erm and Piret Puppart.
The idea for the photo series and the exhibition was born out of a desire to draw attention to the importance of supporting culture. Over the years, Viru Keskus has supported Tallinn Music Week, KUMU Estonian Art Museum, Estonian Academy of Arts and Jazzkaar.
The clothes worn in the photos came from the assortment of shops located in Viru Keskus while the headwear and accessories are part of new collections of Mari Masso and jewellery designer Tanel Veenre. The photographer of the exhibition is Riina Varol, the author of the style and concept is Liisi Eesmaa. The exhibition is open for free in the Fotografiska café area starting this week.
