Michelin Young Chef Award went to Janno Lepik who has also created the Freya Foodbar menu at Viru Food Street

Estonia is the first country in the Baltic region to be included in the Michelin restaurant guide. The inspectors of the Michelin Guide highlighted those with outstanding food preparation quality. One of these is the Michelin Young Chef award that went to Janno Lepik, the head chef of Lore Bistroo of Bib Gourmand restaurant. Janno Lepik has also created the healthy and appetising menu of Freya Foodbar to be opened at Viru Food Street.

“When Estonia gets such recognition by the most famous restaurant quality rating in the world, it means that Estonia has been placed on the world gastronomy map. It means that people who consider their food and drink and the way it is all served an ultra important part of their travel experience, will find their way to Estonia,” explained Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of Michelin Guides.

“By the way, nowadays this concerns no longer only luxury goods, but quality rankings are equally given both to street food restaurants and luxury restaurants, meaning that Michelin has also been flexible and adjusted its values to fit the times,” he added.
